Girls bedrooms should be filled with beautiful colors, textures, fabrics, and personal detail that make the space one she can proudly call her own in the house. Normally, paint is the first consideration when decorating a room. However, when it comes to girl’s bedrooms, it might be helpful to first find out what interests your child and then decide on colors and theme.

Popular colors for girls bedrooms are pink, soft yellow, pale turquoise, blues, soft lilacs, earth tones, green and even bright white. Keep in mind that you’ll likely be changing the theme in the room in a few short years, so choose a paint color that could be the backdrop for several different themes if possible. The comforter should reflect the overall theme of the room or coordinate with the color on the walls and in the accessories.

At some point your little girl is going to grow out of the princess-themed room that she begged for years ago and its time to realize she’s growing up a little bit. Girls aged nine to 14 are considered tweens, and they’re struggling to define themselves as individuals during this time in their lives. This means that they’re ready to break free from the little girl but not quite ready to become a young woman, something to remember when redecorating a girl’s bedroom.
